Book Review for The Stepmother's Secret by @emmarobinsonuk

I found this book to be a page-turner and it's even in a genre that I don't typically read. Gracie's marriage is going through a rough patch, and she takes her two daughters and returns to her family home. Only she doesn't really feel like she belongs there at all since her father died three years ago. Though truth be told, it hadn't felt like home long before that. What she has is a big house of hurtful memories and a stepmother still living there that she never wanted. But Gracie feels like this is the only place she can turn right now.

This book follows the journey of Gabbie's life in the present day and in the past. As secrets come out, she begins to question what she thought she knew. Is it possible that things weren't exactly as how she she had perceived as a young person? And maybe her stepmother isn't the evil person she made her out to be either?

As a mother herself now, how will what Gabbie learns from visiting her past shape her future and that of her daughters' and her marriage. There is no doubt that Gabbie has been placed in a tough spot, but will she find her way out? I dare not say any more for risk of giving any spoilers, but I highly recommend this book if you just want to step into someone else's world for a day.
